In this lecture, Gabriel Muller talks about his experiences in building the monitoring environment at AWK Group. The AWK network currently consists of 30 network elements, including Cisco Catalyst switches and Cisco Aironet access points, Juniper SSG Firewalls and Juniper SRX, distributed over three sites.

In addition to the monitoring of the relevant IPv6 parameters, the objectives of the network monitoring are to realize the data transmission using IPv6 whereever possible. Rancid is used to backup the configuration, Icinga to monitor services and hosts, Munin for displaying relevant graphs and phpIPAM for documentation of networks. In practical implementations it is often seen that the devil is in the details and that you need to review critically the promises of the manufacturers.
The presentation and discussion will be in German.
